New York City is a populated hub for cryptocurrency startups, and Miami has seen a slow but steady increase in crypto-related businesses. The two cities’ mayors have been trading zingers on Twitter over the last week with each mayor claiming to be bigger advocates of blockchain technology

The “Miami mayor crypto” is a tweet that was sent out by the Miami mayor. The tweet has been in response to NYC mayor Bill De Blasio’s tweet asking him about his thoughts on cryptocurrencies.

Mayor-elect Eric Adams of New York City has reaffirmed his commitment to making the city a crypto center by receiving his first three paychecks exclusively in Bitcoin.

Adams claimed he would match Miami Mayor Francis Suarez’s commitment to take Bitcoin (BTC) for his next salary, as well as the next two paychecks, in a tweet on Nov. 4 in response to Suarez, who was re-elected for a second term on Tuesday. If Adams takes a basic salary of $258,750, his monthly payouts will be about $21,562, for a total of 1.05 BTC at a cost of $61,268.

We usually go big in New York, so when I become mayor, I’m going to collect my first THREE paychecks in Bitcoin. The bitcoin business, as well as other fast-growing, creative industries, will be centered on New York City! Just hold your breath!

The future New York Mayoral mayor’s social media teasing comes only days after he won the city election with 72.8 percent of the vote. Because he is set to assume office on January 1, the BTC price might fluctuate dramatically before Adams is sworn in. The cryptocurrency has seen a lot of movement this month, surging more than 10% from under $50,000 in early October to $61,268 at the time of writing.

As a political candidate and a public servant, Adams and Suarez have both lobbied for their communities to become crypto centres in the United States. If elected, the mayor-elect said that he wanted to make New York City “the hub of Bitcoins,” whereas Suarez has stated that he wants Miami to have “the most advanced crypto legislation” in the country.

Suarez’s answer to Adams’ payment ‘challenge’ suggests that the Miami mayor does not see the race to embrace Bitcoin as unfriendly. Given Adams’ $258,750 yearly income against Suarez’s predicted $97,000, Adams would most certainly collect substantially more BTC from his paychecks.

“Congratulations on your election,” Suarez added. “I’m looking forward to a friendly rivalry to become our city crypto capitals.”

New York’s Crypto City: A Travel Guide

Because of precedent-setting policies and events, New York City and Miami have long been the attention of many in the crypto world. At the Bitcoin 2021 conference in Miami in June, President Nayib Bukele outlined his ambitions to make Bitcoin legal cash in El Salvador. In addition, the New York Attorney General’s office has prosecuted a number of crypto companies, including Coinseed, Bitfinex, and Tether.

The “miami crypto event” is a battle between the mayors of NYC and Miami. The two mayors are fighting over who is the bigger advocate for cryptocurrency.
